Machakos Teachers College in Machakos County; a leading institution in Teacher Training is seeking to recruit competent, self-driven and committed individuals to fill the following positions: 

 

  1. Advert No. MATECO/HR/01/12/2025: ARTISAN (PLUMBER)                            (1 post)                                                                                 

1.1 Requirement for appointment to this grade:

  1. Have passed Government Trade Test Certificate Grade (III) or Artisan Certificate in relevant field.
  2. KCSE Mean Grade D or its equivalent.
  3. Two years (2) relevant work experience at the grade of artisan (III) or comparable position or in general maintenance or craftsmanship.
  4. Be proficient in computer applications.
  5. Having NYS Certificate and/or experience in masonry is an added advantage.

       1.2 Job description: 

  1. Perform general repair and maintenance tasks (Plumbing, masonry etc.).
  2. Ensure routine inspection and servicing of College facilities.
  3. Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  4. Identify and trouble shoot maintenance related problems, including leakages, blockages and system failures.
  5. Adhering to safety standards and plumbing codes to ensure all installation and repairs are up to code.
  6. Conduct regular inspection of plumbing and sewerage system to prevent issues and ensure proper functionality.
  7. Patrolling, inspecting and ensuring functionality of water and sewer networks
  8. Work with maintenance and construction team to support facility upgrades and repairs.

    1. Requirements for appointment to this position.
  2. Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
  3. KCSE Mean Grade D plain.
  4. Proven experience in the relevant field.

 

 2.2 Job description: 

  1. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of hostels, offices and other College premises.
  2. Dispose waste appropriately and follow health and safety standards.

  3. Report any repair needs or hazards noticed during cleaning.

        3.0   Advert No. MATECO/HR/03/12/2025: COOK                                                              (2 posts)

  3.1 Requirements for appointment to this position.

  1. KCSE Mean Grade D plain.
  2. Certificate in culinary skills and knowledge of food safety.
  3. Ability to work under pressure.
  4. Proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

 

   3.2 Job description

  1. Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.
  2. Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to college recipes.
  3. Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.
  4. Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet required standards.
  5. Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
  6. Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
  7. Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
  8. Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
  9. Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.
